Sailors lose first football game after 19 straight wins

Shores traveled to Detroit and lost to Martin Luther King 40-19. The loss ended a 19-game win streak that included two state championships. Junior quarterback Mark Konecny’s 15-yard TD run, and Kaden Pulaski’s extra point gave Shores an early 7-6 lead. After an MLK touchdown, Konecny connected with Jaylen Vinton for a 51-yard scoring pass to knot the score at 13. At that point, it was all MLK except for a third-quarter 14-yard TD run by Dahmir Farnum. Konecny finished 10-for-17 for 152 yards while Vinton had four catches for 124 yard.
