Senior quarterback Mark Konecny led the Sailors to a 56-14 over Lowell in the season opener. Konecny had three rushing touchdowns and passed for 216 yards (8-for-11) and one TD through the air. Konecny rushed 10 times for 96 yards. Shores opened the scoring with a 96-yard touchdown pass from Konecny to senior Demetri Roberson. Senior Elijah Johnson made it 14-0 with a two-yard run before Konecny’s first TD run from five yards out made it 21-0 at the end of the first quarter. Junior Jaylen Vinton extended the lead with an 80-yard interception return for a touchdown and Johnson made it 35-0 at halftime with a one-yard run. In the second half, junior Kewaun Farnum scored on a 69-yard punt return, and Konecny had two rushing TD’s. Defensively, junior David Frederick had seven tackles.
