2020 Lady Turtles Swim/Dive Meet Report

Gr. Catholic Central                  78 (0-1) OK Rainbow Tier 1-(0-2) Overall

Lady Turtles starts off the 2022 OK Rainbow Tier 1 Dual Meet Season on the right “Stroke” with hard fought 100-78 Win over Grand Rapids Catholic Central. The Lady Turtles improves to (3-1) Overall and (1-0) in the OK Rainbow Tier 1 Conference.  Despite wining 11/12 events the TEAM had to battle for the for the extra points finishes (2^nd an 3^rd Swimmers). With a lot of Grit and Determination the Turtles came out on top.

It truly was a total Team Win.   It was great to see some new Personal Record Swims from some people who have been struggling but working hard to get those PR’s.  This meet was a great wake up call for us to let us know we still have a lot of work to do and that the season does not get any easier for moving forward. Next Tuesday we head State Ranked Zeeland for a very tough OK Rainbow T1 meet.

Tonight, the Turtles swam to 19 Personal Record Swims/Dives: Turtles won all three relays:  200 Medley Relay (Delaney Buckner-Susie Van Baale-Robyn Hunt-Sydney Sytsema) 2:02.26 / 200 Free Relay (Naomi Huttenga-Maria Eenigenburg-Sophia Zziwambazza-Marilyn Gaston) 1:55.99 / 400 Free Relay (Robyn Hunt-Sydney Sytsema-Naomi Huttenga-Delaney Buckner) 4:02.82.  Double Winners:  Sydney Sytsema 50 Free-100 Free, Robyn Hunt   200 Free-500 Free.  Delaney Buckner 100 Fly-100Back.  Other First place finishers Naomi Huttenga 200IM and Susie Van Baale 100 Breast. 

One of Big Highlights of the meet was in 100 Butterfly.  The Turtles go 1-2-3    Delaney Buckner-Naomi Huttenga- Eva Stout! Also, high light was Sophia Zziwambazza diving for the first time and finished with Personal Record Sore 104.85pts.

A Huge Thankyou to our great back up timers, Mr. Hunt for running the score table -Coach Kim and Coach Kelly for their hard work gathering the backup times and announcing the meet for us-Mr. Huttenga manning the Admissions/Concessions-and for those who helped with donations.  Great Job everyone!!  I truly appreciate all your help and support with two meets and no timing system working.
