UNION HIGH SCHOOL: 26
Down 26-21 at halftime, the Sailors (2-1, 1-0) outscored GR Union 29-0 in the second half to win the OK Green opener, 56-26. In the first half after Union took a 7-0 lead, senior QB Mark Konecny ran for a 30-yard rushing touchdown to put the Sailors on the board. Demetri Roberson returned a kickoff for 90 yards, and Ryan McNiff caught a 15-yard pass from Konecny for a touchdown right before halftime. In the second half, Dahmir Farnum, who had 132 yards on only seven carries, rushed for 14- and 32-yard back-to-back touchdowns. Roberson took a 51-yard punt return to the house. Brandon Bankard rushed for two TDs from 55 and 6 yards. Seniors Jeff Lenartowicz and Steve Koziak led the defense with 10 and eight tackles, respectively, while senior Landon Thalman made six stops.
