Saturday at the Holland Christian Quad Meet the Mona Shores/Greater Muskegon HS Girls Co-op Team went 1-2 in dual meet results.  The Lady Turtles beat Hudsonville Unity Christian 126-57 and dropped to close battles to Gr. Christian 98-88 and Holland Christian 105-81.

Despite going 1-2 and swimming many people in different events to deal with scheduling problems with double sports athletes the Lady Turtles raced to 38 Personal Records and One MHSAA Div. 1 State Meet Cut Time. After two weeks of some good solid training, today was a good test to see where are with about a month before the OK Rainbow Tier 1 Conference Meet next month. I was proud and happy to see many swimmers and divers step it up and push themselves. It was a great chance to see some people step it up to try some new events.  This meet was a great learning experience.   We saw how important TEAM support is for teams.  No Spectators allowed at the meet it was up to the TEAM to carry the load for cheering for their teammates. It was a little quieter without the swim parents and fans today but the Lady Turtles showed a lot of great TEAM Support and PRIDE!!

The Lady Turtles were led by State Qualifier Evyn Johnson who won the 100 Free in a State Meet Cut Time of 54.19 and then won the 100Back.  Also, leading the way was Caroline Carlson winning the 500 Free and helped the 400 Free Relay come from behind and place second.  Olivia McKenna was second in the 200IM and 3^rd in the 100 Breast. The 200 Medley Relay (Caroline Carlson-Olivia McKenna -Alaina Kohley-Alana Morin) 2^nd – 200Free Relay (Alana Morin-Zoe Sytsema-Olivia McKenna-Evyn Johnson) 3^rd and the 400 Free Relay (Alaina Kohley-Eliza Piper-Caroline Carlson-Evyn Johnson) 2^nd.

Monday, we go back to work and get ready for another tough week of training and swim meets against Div.1 State Ranked Zeeland and another Statuary meets with Holland HS. Another Great week of opportunities to get strong, faster, and more confident in our abilities.
